WHAT UP!!! These last few days I took an amazing staycation to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge. The trip was filled with all sorts of awesome. There was kayaking, boats, so much pool, so much tequila, Sunday Brunch at California Grill, more alcohol, and most importantly SO MUCH FOOD. Obviously I had multiple meals, spent too much time, and had many drinks at the new Geyser Point restaurant. I lived.
However, this post specifically is to cover the conversion of the Territory Lounge in to a small cafe running from 11 am – 2pm right off the main lobby. This. Place. Was. WILD. Lex and I went every morning of the trip haha.
R U KITTEN ME????? DO U SEE THE CAMPFIRE CUPCAKE???? DO YOU SEE THE SMORE’S LATTE???? I think a lot of Disney cupcakes are “you’ve had one, you’ve had ’em all”. Well, not so much recently, but definitely not after these.
Before I jump into anything crazy – here’s a look at the menu pastry and drink menu:
As pictured above, we tried the S’mores Latte, and I also grabbed a Gold Rush Latte to go. The S’mores latter was using a toasted marshmallow syrup, topped with whipped cream, graham cracker crumble, marshmallows, and chocolate syrup. It was SO good, 5/5.
I had the Gold Rush which was a vanilla latte with caramel, whipped cream, and a caramel drizzle. Not as exciting, but just as good! The last drink was the Wilderness Bark Latte, which is a Hazelnut Latte.
Once we moved on from drinks, we dove in to the pastry situation.
We had the Campfire Cupcake, which was a chocolate cupcake, a creamy marshmallow filling, oreo crumb on the outside, topped with a sweet fire icing, chocolate rocks, and literally…A TOASTED MARSHMALLOW ON A STICK. It was the craziest thing ever. One of my favorite sweet pastries on property period.
It’s companion up there was a NYC level pastry, complete with a drizzle in a pipette. It was an orange cupcake, with a lemon curd filling, lime butter cream frosting, white crispy pearls as a garnish, the chocolate easel (seen a lot at the Festival of the Arts), and a pipette filled with Habanero Lime. I’m a sucker for citrus pastries, and the flavors of this cupcake were really really dope and well thought out. The cake was really nice with the orange citrus and paired so well with the lime frosting.
I grabbed pictures of the other few options even though I didn’t get to try them because I would have literally exploded.
This is the Blueberry Pistachio Tart, with a pistachio powder.
This was a flourless chocolate cake, the cookie on top is a nib tuile
(FOOD LESSON: a tuile is a french cookie, and generally made from almond! this is a nib tuile, so it also uses nibs, which are bits of fermented, dried, roasted, and crushed cacao beans)
with a chocolate meringue kiss!
And finally…A NUTELLA FINANICIER (financier is also a french pastry, an almond cake) CAKE. ARE YOU SERIOUS DISNEY?????!!! Has nutella icing, white chocolate stick, and raspberry.
So all in all, this cafe is a must visit whether you’re a local, or vacationer. The Wilderness lodge is easy to get to, you can take a boat directly from the entrance of Magic Kingdom. Just remember, its only 11 am to 2 pm, so it’s not available all day!
Thanks for checking out the blog, let me know on the insta if theres anything I need to be eating this week, or if you wanna meet up and hang or get food!!! Talk soon!
