Choza de Mexico Finally Opens, Review


After MONTHS of delays Choza finally opened yesterday so I made sure to slide thru and grab one of everything (appropriate for Taco Tuesday).

To start we had the guacamole, severed with mango and pumpkin seeds served with pork rinds covered in hot sauce. This was a SNACK (in the tasty way). The portion itself was more than enough for the two of us to share, and for $7.95 we had no complaints at all. This is significantly better than the guac at the other quick service in Mexico. The pork rinds were also a crazy touch, and made the whole experience a little more unique.

Next was the tacos al pastor, 2 tacos on corn tortillas, with green tomatillo sauce, onions, pineapple, and cilantro. For me, these are the best tacos on property. They’re the closest to real mexican street tacos Disney will probably ever offer, and they were delicious. They come with a side of corn esquite, which wasn’t as good as the rest of the meal, but is a nice addition to the $9.25 meal.

Finally, we did the barbacoa empanadas covered with a chipotle sauce, crema Mexicana, and queso fresco. They were pretty unmatched to be really real. This entire booth was so surprisingly close to authentic, delicious Mexican food with out the Table Service price tag. These come two to an order for $9.75 and I will happily pay it again.

Finally was my margarita – Mexican Grapefruit: Casa Noble blanco, grapefruit liquor, elderflower cordial, lemon juice, cardamom bitters, and ginger beer. Soooo $14.50 was a little pricey for any margarita for me, but it was absolutely delicious and much stronger than I assumer. I have to imagine the rest of the margaritas we’re equally as good in flavor and execution.

All in all, this is a can not miss stop at Epcot. It’s exciting to have another non-festival booth that can deliver food comparably thought out and exciting as the festival booths.
