For every Disney restaurant that's worth the hype comes one that doesn't quite live up to it's reputation. Today we're taking a look at the top five most overrated places to eat at Walt Disney World!
*Note: We're strictly taking only the food available at the following locations into account!
First up on our list of the most overrated restaurants at Walt Disney World we have the infamous Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The food here is your basic subpar all-American breakfast buffet with everything that you'd expect to find. However, we can't deny the value it provides when it comes to character meet & greets. You get to meet the whole fab five which could easily takes hours to do around the parks, so what it lacks for foodies it makes up for with great characters!
Second on our list is the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Here you'll find a menu comprised mainly of hamburgers, milkshakes, and fried fare. You'll also be seated in your own car/table and get to watch movies on the projector in front of you just like at a real dine-in. Although the dine-in experience is pretty cool in and of itself, the quality of the food here is pretty terrible. You're honestly better off going to the AMC Dine-In at Disney Springs to watch a movie that's actually in theaters and enjoy some pretty bomb food!

Thirdly, we have Ohana. Now before the Ohana super fans come for us, we want to clarify that we're strictly talking about their breakfast here (dinner is definitely worth the hype). Ohana breakfast is served family style with waffles, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuits -- all of which is also pretty standard breakfast food options that you can find anywhere else on property. You do get to meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto, so just like with Chef Mickey's there is also some value here when it comes to meeting characters.
Next up, Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom. This is arguably one of the most expensive dining options at Walt Disney World and easily the most expensive at Magic Kingdom. CRT is yet another example of a great character experience at the expense of great food.
Lastly, we have one of the most popular restaurants at Magic Kingdom -- Tony's Town Square Restaurant. Despite the perceived value of dining right on Main Street U.S.A., this place is a foodie's nightmare. It's the Disney World equivalent of the Olive Garden with some of the worst Italian food on property. If you're looking for a real Italian meal, you're so much better off at Trattoria al Forno at Disney's Boardwalk Resort or even at the Italy pavilion in Epcot!
All in all, if you're a foodie and thinking about making a reservation at any of the restaurants we've talked about here, you may want to explore some other options. We're always posting about our favorite food spots on Instagram and we have no shortage of great reviews in our other blog posts! Let us know in the comments if you think any of these restaurants are also overrated and if there are any places that we left out make sure to let us know that as well!
