The Top Disney Tattoo Artists You Should Already Be Following

It's tattoo week here at Lost Bros and we have a stacked lineup of new Disney tattoo-inspired items to be released tomorrow at 10 AM! We've been thinking about the artists who make these Disney-inspired designs and permanently place their art on our bodies every day. While most tattoo artists don't consider Disney their specialty, there are some that do. And their art is awesome. Let's take a deep dive into the niche-yet-creative world of Disney tattoos and the people that bring them to life.

Hello all you earthlings, my name is Sonny Eclipse...

A post shared by Shannon Taber (@tattoosbyshannon) on

Shannon is a good friend of ours here at Lost Bros. Responsible for some iconic past designs such as the Wingin' It tee, and various other designs coming this week. His classic tattoo style combined with imaginative take on some of the most well-known Disney characters to date (such as Baby Yoda holding a succulent) makes his work a fresh take on Disney tattoos.

POCH Tattoos - @poch_tattoos

Poch Tattoos, based out of Atlanta, is known for portraits of characters and Celebrities that look as if they were copied straight out of the movies and pasted on to a human body (check out his Nicki Minaj portrait, for example). His other pop culture inspired pieces include Dragon Ball Z, Batman, and even Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. His animated Disney tattoos like the Beauty and the Beast themed tattoo above look as though they were taken from screen-to-skin with the incredible amount of detail and accuracy in the color scheme.

Alex creates some of the cutest pop culture inspired pieces I've ever seen! Her neon-esq color palate makes every piece pop in an extremely unique way as if it was ripped right out of a 90's ad. Past characters range from cute and cuddly like Pokemon and Baymax, to classics like Bart Simpson and Jack Skellington. Alex is based out of Las Vegas.

Mae La Roux - @missmaelaroux

Mae La Roux is pretty much the queen of all Disney tattoos. Her insanely unique style blends iconic Disney attractions with beloved Disney characters to create an unexpected masterpiece (like the Princess X Tiki Room crossover above). Most of her portfolio is Disney based which makes sense because she does it WELL. Mae is based out of Visalia, California

Big Al! Thanks, Haley! @cobraclassictattoo

Dave is another detailed traditional tattoo artist. His Big Al shrine (pictured above) is one of the coolest homages to The Country Bear Jamboree I've ever seen. He's also done other characters like Spongebob, Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Tina from Bob's Burgers. Dave is based in Ocala, Florida and is currently taking bookings from Late July and August.

Krystal - @krystals_tatted

Krystal has a quirky and unique style, blending classic lovable pop culture characters with stereotypical underground subcultures. Take Olaf with a grill and a face tat for example. Other notable pieces include Courage the Cowardly Dog with chest tattoos and a Gucci Mane style codine cup with lightning bolts, or Kanye West's Dropout Bear sporting a "I feel like Kobe" sweater. Krystal is based out of Dallas Texas.

Chelsey Wagner-Hamilton - @chelseytattoos

Another California based artist, Chelsey is based out of Oakland. She has many pop culture inspired pieces, including Disney, that have extreme detail and close-knit repeating patterns and designs. Her Tiger Queen piece pictured above fills empty space with colorful dots that add to the detail and make the tattoo pop. Her characters are also spot on, just look at the Jasmine!

Mahagany Shaw - @mahaganyshaw

Got to do this lil Gus Gus on Tj today 💛

A post shared by Mahagany Shaw Tattoos (@mahaganyshaw) on

Finally, Mahagany Shaw has perfected the art of classic, traditional tattoo. Much of her work has a heavy pin up, classic aesthetic to it. Other notable pieces of her include Key Lime Pie, Lucifer, and Fauna from Animal Crossing. Mahagany is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
