Whispering Canyon Cafe Plant Based Review

This week, we took a trip over to Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge to try their new all you care to enjoy plant based platter! I love finding new vegetarian/vegan options on property and since we already love Whispering Canyon Cafe, I decided to check out their new plant based menu and compare it side-by-side with their standard all you care to enjoy skillet!

To start the meal, you're served Whispering Canyon's all you can eat, house-made salad. Even though it's not all that ground breaking, the apple vinaigrette is delicious!

Next, you're brought out two huge loaves of their amazing corn bread which is always the highlight of dining at Whispering Canyon!

Regular Skillet: BBQ Ribs, Brisket, Sausage, Chicken, Cowboy Baked Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Green Beans

Out of all the meats on the regular platter, I would have to say that the sausage was my favorite with the brisket being a close second, but the Cowboy Baked Beans are easily the best part of the meal!

Plant Based Skillet: Gardien Chicken, Gardien Beef Tips, BBQ Jackfruit, Beyond Sausage, Corn, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans

Absolutely everything in the plant based skillet was a hit. The Gardien chicken and beef tips were amazing, but the real stars of the show were definitely the BBQ jackfruit and Beyond sausage! You can even ask for potato wedges instead of the mashed potatoes for a more dairy free meal!

Overall, I enjoyed both meals, but if I had to choose a winner between the two I would choose the plant based meal without question. You sacrifice absolutely no flavor by opting out of the meat and still get to enjoy nearly all of the same accompaniments as the regular platter. Dessert is the one thing that's not included, but for an all you care to enjoy meal that's only around $35 you really can't ask for much more! I always love dining at Whispering Canyon and getting roasted by all the servers for asking questions, so this is a definite must-do on your next trip!

Official Review: 3.5/5 (Regular) 5/5 (Plant Based)
